Under the hood of the 2023 Nissan Maxima beats the heart of a refined engine. The 3.5-liter V6 engine pairs to a Continuously Variable Transmission (XTRONIC CVT®) to deliver a responsive performance. The powertrain generates a heart-thumping 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque. The powertrain also enables a fuel-efficient drive, which keeps your fuel dollars in your pocket. EPA-estimated ratings are 20 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.[1] The sedan’s Drive Mode Selector allows you to customize the performance to conditions around you or just for an added thrill when you shift into Sport Mode. The Maxima hugs the road with precise handling with the independent multi-link rear suspension with monotube shocks. Several systems contribute to the incredible performance such as Intelligent Engine Brake, Intelligent Trace Control, and Active Ride Control.
